"We'll leave the Light of Christ on for you"

Our pastor, Gretchen Barron, was out recently – we welcomed her back this past Sunday! We thank Harold Smith for filling the pulpit during her absence! We have been blessed with excellent preachers and we thank them for their teaching.
Music, loud or soft, makes up a big part of our lives. We are blessed by a very good Music director at the Tallula Christian Church. Paula serves as our Music Director, pianist, and secretary; she is very competent at all positions. When Paula is off, Hermina fills in on the organ. We have also had Rachel and Cathy fill in on piano. All of these women do an outstanding job and we thank them for sharing their musical gifts with us during worship!
A couple of weeks ago, Renee Schoneweis Tope sang us a song during service and then her father, Bud Schoneweis, led the congregation in a hymn. Both are blessed musically and we thank them for sharing their gifts with the congregation!
Hate is a terrible thing. The words from the song One Tin Solder by Brian Potter and Dennis Earle Lambert say: “Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend, do it in the name of Heaven, you can justify it in the end”. This may be the way some Christians live their lives. However, we like to sing a song in our hymnal, entitled “Pass It On” by Kurt Kaiser. The last verse says:
I wish for you, my friend, this happiness I’ve found –
on God you can depend, it matters not where you’re bound,
I’ll shout it from the mountain top. I want my world to know
the Lord of love has come to me.
I want to pass it on.
We would like to extend a personal invitation to each of you to come visit the Tallula Christian Church. Sunday worship services start a little after 10:30 am every Sunday morning. We are easy to find just three short blocks north of downtown Tallula at 311 North Yates. And if you are not able to join us, check out our website, tallulachristianchurch.com, where the weekly message is posted for you to read. As we always say, “We’ll leave the light on for you, the light of Christ.” Enjoy the next song that you like and may the Grace of God control your hate through the love of Jesus Christ and then pass it on!
