GOOD NEWS FROM THE TALLULA CHRISTIAN CHURCH 4-16-19
The grass is turning green and the weather is slowly, but surely, warming up. Mushrooms and planting season can’t be far behind. We pray everyone has a safe and profitable planting season.
Meanwhile, here at the Tallula Christian church, Gretchen ministered on being humble and humility. One story, John 13, comes to mind when humility of our Lord is discussed. On Maundy Thursday, Jesus humbled himself to wash the feet of his disciples. When questioned about this, he said “For I have given you an example that you also should do as I have done to you. Truly, truly I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master nor is he who is sent greater than he that sent him.” Humble yourself before our Lord and mankind and you will serve our Lord and Savior well.
Our prayers go out to the family of Jeanne Wankel on her passing. Also, do not forget that St. Paul’s church in Petersburg is sponsoring a sunrise service upon the hill and then a free will offering for a light breakfast at St. Paul’s church will be provided following the sunrise service. I believe that Ray and Cindy are in charge of the music at sunrise service.
We would like to extend a personal invitation to each of you to come visit the Tallula Christian Church. Sunday worship services start a little after 10:30 am every Sunday morning. On Maundy Thursday, (April 18th), at 6:30 pm, please join us for a Maundy Thursday dinner. And, of course, all are invited to Easter Service on Sunday, April 21st at 10:30. Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt will follow the service and is open to the community!
We are easy to find just three short blocks north of downtown Tallula at 311 North Yates. And if the weather prevents you joining us, check out our website, tallulachristianchurch.com, where the weekly message is posted for you to read. As we always say, “We’ll leave the light on for you, the light of Christ.” God bless each and everyone of you and may God’s blessings be upon you and received in the spirit of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
