"We'll leave the Light of Christ on for ya"

As Easter approaches, I will try to stay away from the gospel of the resurrection to not spoil the minister’s Easter message!

I have often been criticized for not studying the Bible. When I read the Bible, it is for relaxation and inspiration. The Bible is always a learning tool and can be read with love or hate in our heart. We prefer that love will always win out over hate, but as long as we are human, one never knows!

In the book of Matthew, Chapter 5, the “Sermon on the Mount”, verses 1 through 11 pretty well sum up Jesus’s love for his fellow everyday common run-of-the-mill working man. Verse 6 starts “Blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied.” Feed the hungry, clothe the naked and bind up the wounds of the afflicted.

We would like to extend a personal invitation to each of you to come visit the Tallula Christian Church. Sunday worship services start a little after 10:30 am every Sunday morning. During this Lenten season, we would like to invite you to attend Palm Sunday service (Sun., April 14) with us. On Maundy Thursday, (April 18th), at 6:30 pm, please join us for a Maundy Thursday dinner. And, of course, all are invited to Easter Service on Sunday, April 21st at 10:30. Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt will follow the service and is open to the community!

We are easy to find just three short blocks north of downtown Tallula at 311 North Yates. And if the weather prevents you joining us, check out our website,, where the weekly message is posted for you to read. As we always say, “We’ll leave the light on for you, the light of Christ.” God bless each and everyone of you and may God’s blessings be upon you and received in the spirit of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
