GOOD NEWS FROM THE TALLULA CHRISTIAN CHURCH 10-7-19
First of all, congratulations to Anne Smith for the well-deserved awards she recently received. Anne has truly been a blessing to the community through her labors!
Our Fall season started a little warmer than usual, but it seems that Fall has finally arrived with the cooler temperatures. Crops are still a little green, but with human patience and wisdom, the harvesting will eventually be in full force. As I write this, I can picture clouds of dust against a sun filled sky. As the combines roll across the prairie. I can smell the soil as it is worked with a smell that comes right from God himself.
Fall will slip into late fall then winter, early sprint, and so forth, but what we Christians know is that man will pass but God is constant. Our worship of God should always be with a humility and in awe of His glory! Anyone who witnesses God’s beauty in our weather, our nature, or our human family must believe in God’s beauty and His existence. As the hymn “Wonderful Words of Life” says:
Sing them over again to me, wonderful words of life.
Let me more of their beauty see, wonderful words of life.
Words of life and beauty, teach me faith and duty;
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life,
beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.
We pray for our military, especially those in harm’s way. We also pray for our community as a whole for safety, guidance, and the harvesting.
We would like to extend a personal invitation to each of you to come visit the Tallula Christian Church. Sunday worship services start a little after 10:30 am every Sunday morning. We are easy to find just three short blocks north of downtown Tallula at 311 North Yates. And if you are not able to join us, check out our website, tallulachristianchurch.com, where the weekly message is posted for you to read. As we always say, “We’ll leave the light on for you, the light of Christ.”
