"We'll leave the Light of Christ on for you"

By the time this is read, Easter services and the Easter Egg Hunts will be over. We sometimes say crucified without thinking what an awful and painful death our Savior suffered. One of the main cogs in the wheel of our faith is that Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father to witness to God about you and me of our time on earth.

What a spiritual and educational service we had Maundy Thursday. Gretchen did an outstanding presentation and we thank all who worked so hard making it a success. All serve our lord in a special way. After the service and dinner, we had an all-night prayer vigil.

Prayers for the women and men of our Armed Forces and a special prayer for our own Blake and Allie, as Blake gets ready to deploy to Afghanistan. Remember most military people do not get to be home with their loved ones at the holy times of the year. God bless them.

Here at the Tallula Christian Church we celebrate the return of Sue and Bud, and Diane: all home from dodging the rough winter we had! We also sing Happy Birthday to our members or visitors when we are aware of that special day. Remember when as a child we put a penny in the offering plate for every year we were celebrating? Oh, what sweet memories!

We would like to extend a personal invitation to each of you to come visit the Tallula Christian Church. Sunday worship services start a little after 10:30 am every Sunday morning. We are easy to find just three short blocks north of downtown Tallula at 311 North Yates. And if you are not able to join us, check out our website,, where the weekly message is posted for you to read. As we always say, “We’ll leave the light on for you, the light of Christ.” God bless each and everyone of you and may God’s blessings be upon you and received in the spirit of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
